                                                                                                              NEW RESIDENCES PROJECT INFO

                                                                                                                       As of November 2025

1. The new Residences will have 29 Affordable INDEPENDENT LIVING SUITES FOR SENIORS (including disabled seniors).

2. There are NO Assisted Living units in the new Residences complex.

3. The complex will have 2 floors, with an elevator and stairs to access the 2nd floor.

4. The complex will include 1 inside storage unit for each suite.

5. Each floor will include a shared laundry room for resident usage.

6. There will be a mix of 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom suites.

7. 20% of the suites will be designated as 'deep subsidy'.

             - Application must be made through the BC Housing Registry

             - Annual proof of income and assets will be required

8. 50% of the suites will be designated to 'rent geared to income'.

             - Application must be made through the BC Housing Registry

             - Annual proof of income and assets will be required

9. 30% of the suites will fall into the 'market' category. 

             - Application may be made through the BC Housing Registry, or directly to TVMS

             - Proof of income and assets will be required at initial application / move-in

10. Rental rates will be determined and announced in 2026, based on the most updated BC Housing criteria and requirements,

            at that time.

11. NOTE: No suites are currently rented - AND - there is NO current 'waiting list' at this time.

12. Thompson View Manor Society plans to hire a dedicated person to assist applicants with the process and requirements of making application for residency. We hope to have this position filled in early Spring 2026, and begin the waiting list process at that time.

13. Building is moving along at a good pace. Providing that there are no serious construction issues - we anticipate/hope that suites will be ready for occupancy by October 2026.

14. SIDE NOTE: Thompson View Manor is working with Interior Health ... to make 2 suites in our current Manor building, available for Interior Staff employees who are wishing to relocate to Ashcroft. These suites are NOT in the new Residences building!
